We are all a living breath
Touching me, touching you, touching others as we do. We all love each other, but sometimes we don’t know how to fill that love. There are many forces around us, and they exist within the physical world. But all that is physical has its limitations, while all that is spiritual knows no bounds. The spiritual realm flows through all things, unrestricted by the physical world. It simply lives and breathes. In this, we are all connected by a shared breath.
However, our physical being is not the same. Our bodies are tied to the physical realm. We cannot move freely; first, our minds and thoughts may traverse spaces, but our bodies remain grounded. Our existence is tied to the physical world that requires sustenance: we must eat when hungry, sleep when tired, and clothe ourselves when cold. These needs are part of the body’s existence, a basic level of survival.
The mind has its own needs at a basic level too. It is capable of complex thoughts, of contemplating concepts, ideas, reasoning and unreasoning, madness and genius. The mind is all-encompassing. Yet, it seeks to break free of the body, to feel its influence over all things at all times.
The heart is an interesting concept. It flows through the body, with both a physical and spiritual attunement. It connects to the human experience of pain, emotion, and love, which are all integral to our existence. What you do with your physical form inevitably affects your spiritual self. There is no way around it.
The soul, however, is pure spirituality. It is timeless, boundless, and knows no fear or pain. It is not limited by the emotions of the heart or the thoughts of the mind, nor by the cravings of the body. It is free from the ties of this physical existence. Its only tie is to your eternal essence.
The brief time we spend here in the physical world is our opportunity to explore, learn, experience hardship, pain, love, joy, beauty, and sorrow. All of it is necessary to nourish the soul, to remind it of its existence, and to teach it what it means to live and to feel.
The soul is powerful and beautiful, existing independently of the physical world. It is through the soul that we come to understand our humanity, to recognize the beauty and imperfection of life. Body and soul are two sides of the same coin. Neither can exist without the other. They are one and both, intertwined.
We are all people, living in the physical world, interacting with others we meet. The physical world shapes our minds and thoughts, influenced by our personal history and legacy. But the soul, through the choices we make, brings us into a higher dimension. We live in this world of energy and physicality, all drinking from the same fountain—the fountain that sustains both the physical and the spiritual, allowing them to coexist in unity and harmony.
